If you can't tell by the smile in the pic below, yes I was having that much fun!
The best part was I was pretty much the best in my boat.. (Yeah.. I'm bragging). My bff sitting next to me could not hang with me. He told me he was sore three days afterwards. Ha, yeah. Don't let the thickness fool ya... I am in shape. He told me later he was surprised by my stamina.
So then Sunday I went mountain biking with my partner. New trail. Freaking HARD. Torture. I kept thinking "why am I doing this to myself?" We even got lost. But then it was over and I was cool. I am no longer ADIDAS'n. So it was worth it, until I saw the freaking TICKS on my dang socks! Ticks! I had a picture in my head that they'd be giant black, aggressive things that dug their giant pincher's into my skin, but mostly they were really small, red and moving around as if they were lost.
I also so UP. That movie rocked! First it had an elderly guy as the and reluctant hero. Original!!!! Second, the little fat kid, Russell, was Asian- Japanese American. Score one for the POC! and you know what. I love it. there was no reason to cast him as Asian. His race or nationality is never mentioned in the movie. It was as if they cast a POC just because.

I had a discussion with my White male biking partner about it and he said I was wrong. Well eat it because here is the proof. Russell didn't fit into any Japanese stereotype, he wasn't especially smart, and gosh he came from a single parent home-- so how in the hell could he be Asian American? Probably the only ones who would notice the non-white features of Russell would be POC who seek out diversity in everything. And yes, I seek it and embrace it. Wiscon is teaching me well.

I love it when the asians get a chance to be normal on TV.
And your dragon boating adventure sounds like a blast! I love being the best at something!
Dragon boating, that sort of looks like fun. Are you going for it again. You're quite the active woman.
I'm hoping to see Up next week, now that school's out. I think that people didn't notice he's not white because they are so used to seeing white people on tv and in movies that that's what they see.
It was way fun! I don't have any plans on going again. I do plan to take up the activity full time once my kids are a little older and I have more free time and money. I think that's an expensive sport to take up as a hobby.
