Bring On the Fun

Hola chica’s and whatever the Spanish word is for men,  I’m back in the blogspot.

How is my writing and studying you ask?  Not so good.  I haven’t been doing either.  What have I been doing?  I’ve been decluttering.  Apparently I can’t declutter and do anything else.  I’ve been feeling clogged—maybe that is what they mean by feng shui being blocked.  For a person with ADD it’s a long process.  I hate cleaning.  Organizing isn’t so bad, it just takes me forever to do it.  Half of my desk is clean at work and it feels so good.

The Kitchen and 75% of my living room is decluttered!  I need to move the tables and exercise bike out of the living room… for want of a man, I can’t move them into the attic by myself.

Other randomness.   I was supposed to go to South Padre with a friend and his son, but it’s way more expensive this year ($179/night) than it was last year ($99/night) and I have a feeling that I shouldn’t go.  Especially since I haven’t saved up the full amount needed for the trip (hotel, gas, rental, food= $1,100) and I think I need to get my roof repaired (????) and my hot water tank replaced (~$500-$700).  I feel really bad since my friend will have to go by himself, but I don’t want to go anywhere (especially when it involves debt) just because I feel obligated.  Most importantly—I will not pay for a vacation on a credit card and I will not use my emergency fund to bank roll a vacation either!  It is much more important I fix my hot water tank (or whatever the problem is) than it is to go S. Padre.  I think we’ll just spend one night in a really good downtown hotel room, enjoy the fireworks, and see movies!

Update: The plumber came out and told me my hot water tank is fine.  My drain was clogged and he unclogged it for $90.  Thank God for that, but I’m still not going.  I felt so relieved when I’d decided not to go that I took the kids swimming on a work night!  I decided that I’d whether take a lot of stay-cations (or is it mini-vacations) than one big vacation.  Awww yeah!  Bring on the fun!!!  I love summer!!!

Lady, where do you live? If you can drive to S. Padre, maybe I can help you get that exercise bike into the attic!

And yes, no vacations out of obligation! Those are the worst. Plus, your friend might have the best experience solo. Maybe that is just what he needed!
